North West Breast Cancer Ball 2025 raises €20,000

The North West Breast Cancer Ball 2025 has been hailed as an outstanding success, raising an incredible €20,360 in support of breast cancer services and research across the north west.

Breast cancer continues to touch the lives of families throughout Donegal and the ball serves not only as a vital fundraising initiative but also as a powerful reminder of solidarity, hope and community support for those navigating diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

A true highlight of the evening was the presence of special guest Shay Given, legendary Irish international footballer and proud Donegal native. Shay’s attendance created tremendous excitement among guests.

Organisers were also very honoured and proud to welcome the current Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill, to the ball.

“Her presence on the night was deeply valued, and we are immensely grateful to her for taking the time from her demanding national schedule to attend and show her support for breast cancer awareness and services in Donegal.”

The event brought together local businesses, community leaders, healthcare professionals and members of the public for an evening of elegance, entertainment and generosity.

The Silver Tassie Hotel team ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience, while the auction and raffle added energy and enthusiasm throughout the night.

“As a small voluntary committee, we are deeply grateful for the continued goodwill shown year after year.

“We wish to acknowledge the continued support of sponsors, media partners and everyone who worked behind the scenes to bring the event to life. Most importantly, we thank every person who purchased a ticket or made a donation, the generosity and community spirit made the event memorable and impactful.”
