Nominations invited for Donegal Person of the Year 2025

THE organisers of the annual Donegal Person of the Year awards celebrations are inviting nominations for this year’s award.

The annual award is organised by the Donegal Association in Dublin and is presented at a special gala celebration in Dublin.

John McCarter from Buncrana was the Donegal Person of the Year for 2024.

The closing date for the receipt of nominations for the 2025 award is November 30.

Any individual or any group may nominate a person – the main criteria being that the person nominated should be from Donegal and have made a significant contribution to the promotion of the county at local, national or international level.

Nominations may set out the reasons for the nomination and may include supporting documentation and endorsements from individuals and groups.

You can make a nomination through the website www.donegalassociation.ie, by writing to The Donegal Association, 33 Upper Merrion Street, Dublin 2 or emailing info@donegalassociation.ie

Meanwhile, on Sunday, November 16, the Donegal Association will hold their Annual Mass of Remembrance in the Bonnington Hotel, Drumcondra in Dublin at 6.30pm.

Deceased members and friends of the association will be remembered at the Mass. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The organisation’s Annual General Meeting will take place after the Mass at 8pm in the Bonnington Hotel. New members are always welcome.
