No major damage caused by fire at GAA clubhouse

A FIRE broke out at the clubhouse of CLG Ghaoth Dobhair in Magheragallon on Saturday afternoon.

At around 1pm on Saturday, February 14, two young boys spotted smoke coming from a downstairs door and immediately raised the alarm.

Fire tenders from Gaoth Dobhair and Dungloe attended the scene and brought the blaze under control.

Gardaí also responded to the incident and confirmed that no injuries were reported.

A full inspection was carried out yesterday afternoon revealing damage to the downstairs area of the building and its electrical system.

The club thanked Gaoth Dobhair and Dungloe Fire Brigades, An Garda Síochána, the ESB, Paul A Roarty and everyone who assisted on the day.

They also paid a special thanks to the two young boys who reported the fire.
