There was disappointment for the DCU Dochas Eireann’s Donegal contingent in the Electric Ireland Freshers Division One Championship Final on Thursday evening.
DCU went into the match as strong favourites but lost out to TUS Midlands by 1-16 to 1-10.
Three players from the Four Masters club started the match for DCU.
Callum McCrea lined out at centre half-back while Kevin Muldoon and Turlough Carr were in the half-forward line.
Carr was one of DCU’s best players as he scored two lovely points from play and set up their goal. However, the Athlone-based team deserved their victory.
Seaghan McCormick from Glenfin was also part of the DCU squad.
Michael Blaney (Fanad) and Nathan Gavigan (Sean MacCumhaills) are members of the DCU Freshers management team.
