Letterkenny Community Residents Group decided at its monthly meeting last night that it will not invite John O’Donnell to attend future meetings with the group.
At different stages last year all ten councillors from the Letterkenny Municipal District met with representatives of residents associations throughout the town to discuss the concerns and problems of residents.
“It has been a very useful and necessary platform with the demise of the town council which councillors have been very supportive of in terms with their attendance and in addressing the issues raised,” Mr Francis McCafferty, Secretrary, Residents Group, said.
“We are very disappointed in the content of the RTE Investigates programme and John O’Donnell’s comments and behaviour on that programme. We have therefore decided that when we invite councillors to meet with residents in the near future, we will no longer invite John O’Donnell but will continue to invite the other nine councillors from the Letterkenny Municipal District,” he added.
