No fatal injuries after car crash

Scene of a serious accident at the Dry Arch.

GARDAI have confirmed there were no fatalities in this morning’s serious car crash on the outskirts of Letterkenny.

Three youths had to be cut from the wreckage of their Honda car after it was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry on in the vicinity of the Dry Arch Bar in the early hours of this morning, between 3 and 4am

The three were taken to hospital but earlier reports one had life threatening injuries have been discounted by emergency services.

Traffic diversions remained in place overnight whilst Gardai carried out detailed investigations at the scene of the accident. Early morning traffic was diverted away from the scene to other minor roads, causing lenghty tailbacks for commuters.

Gardaí are warning of traffic disruption for several more hours.
