With the Football Club Championships due to start next week, Ryan Ferry takes a look at players who didn’t line out for the Donegal senior footballers this season but who could be key men for their clubs in the coming weeks.
Shaun Ward (Glenfin)
There is a new feel to the Glenfin team this year with plenty of young players in the mix.
County star Luke McGlynn will grab plenty of the attention while Kaine McGlynn, Odhran O’Connor and Daniel Marley have all acquitted themselves well.
Shaun Ward is another impressive prospect and he really upped his game with the Donegal Under 20 side earlier this year.
Ward is a strong player, and he’s excellent from the dead ball and can also kick scores from play.
Glenfin have winnable games against St Michael’s (home) and Ardara (away) coming up in the Championship, and if Ward is on form, they could be in a good place heading into Round 3.
