OVER the past week, nine motorists across the county were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
In total, seven motorists were arrested for drug driving; while two were arrested for drink driving.
Gardaí have reminded motorists to never get behind the wheel of any vehicle while under the influence.

“We urge all drivers never to get behind the wheel of any type of vehicle while under the influence,” a garda spokesperson said.
“If you are aware that an incident of drinkdrug driving is taking place or if you are aware that it is about to take place, please alert gardaí immediately.
“You might just save a life or lives by doing so.”
