WORKS commenced on Monday night on the N56 four lane carriageway in Letterkenny.
Motorists are being advised that during the hours of 7am and 7pm all lanes will remain open.
However, between 7pm and 7am, temporary traffic management will be in place on the N56 Four Lane carriageway.
The contractor has announced plans to reduce some lanes to single lanes to accommodate the works.
The inbound lane of the N56 Four lane will be reduced down to a single lane, while the outbound lane of the N56 four lane will be reduced down to a single lane.
A single Lane shuttle will be in operation for periods during this time.
Works will be undertaken on the carriageway under semi-static traffic management.
The Four Lane Road between the Polestar and the Dry Arch Roundabout in Letterkenny currently has a reduced speed limit from 80kph to 50kph.
The new speed limit came into force while road improvements are being carried out along the route.
