WELL-KNOWN businessman and Everest summiteer Jason Black officially opened the new St Vincent de Paul shop in Letterkenny this afternoon (Friday), April 25.
Speaking at the official opening Mr Black spoke of the importance of the St Vincent de Paul Society in any community and said it was the many volunteers who work in the background that are the ‘real heroes’.
Shop Manager, Ms Catherine Duffy welcomed the great turnout at today’s official launch of the new charity shop which first opened its doors at the end of November.
‘Strength to strength’
“The turnout was fantastic and the launch was a great success, we couldn’t be more delighted. The shop has been going really well since it first opened and we hope that it goes from strength to strength.
“The St Vincent de Paul shop does not just raise much-needed funds which are put back into the community, it is also an important place of social gathering for the community.”
The new St Vincent de Paul Society charity shop is located at 37 Lower Main Street, between the Lemon Tree Restaurant and Clarke’s Newsagents.
All items are keenly priced and all money raised is used to help people directly in the local communities and all donations greatly appreciated.
