Aurivo Co-operative have announced that Donegal Creameries, Donegal’s trusted milk brand milk for over 125 years is now the official sponsor of the Letterkenny RFC Girls and Women’s teams.
This partnership continues the brand’s commitment to the Donegal region. Donegal Creameries has long supported a wide range of community initiatives including the Donegal GAA development squad, Community Games and soccer camps, and it remains one of the largest employers in the county.
Letterkenny RFC has been a key part of Donegal’s sporting landscape since 1973. Its home ground, Dave Gallaher Memorial Park, honours the legacy of Ramelton-born Dave Gallaher, captain of the well-known 1905 All Blacks team. Today, the club has more than 450 members including players, coaches, volunteers and supporters. The rapid growth and success of the club’s girls’ and women’s teams, including the senior women’s side, has gained national attention with the club recently featured as a case study by Ulster Rugby.
The newly sponsored jerseys also feature a love heart with the initials L.H., a tribute to Leona Harper, a beloved club member who tragically lost her life in the Creeslough tragedy. Her parents, Donna and Hugh, have generously donated funds raised in Leona’s memory to support her cherished club.
Speaking about the announcement, Niamh Jinks, Aurivo Communications and Brand Manager said, “At Aurivo, supporting the local communities in which we operate is incredibly important to us. Under the Donegal Creameries brand, we are proud to support the growth of girls’ and women’s sport at Letterkenny RFC. Our values of teamwork, trust and a will to win are shared by the club, and this partnership reflects our commitment to putting our people and communities at the heart of everything we do.”
Letterkenny RFC Chair Chris Digimas welcomed the sponsorship: “This partnership is hugely important to the club. The support from Donegal Creameries allows us to continue to build on the incredible progress of our women’s and girls’ teams. It ensures we can provide the best possible coaching and facilities for our players and it reinforces the club’s commitment to making rugby accessible to everyone in our community.”
Letterkenny RFC , Club President Seán McGuiness added: “We are grateful for this support from Donegal Creameries. Their investment in our teams will help us grow into the future and we look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
