NEW signage indicating the location of the old Workhouse Graveyard beside the County Museum on the High Road in Letterkenny is being updated.
The area has seen a lot of work in recent times with new paving and a piece of art called ‘Reflection’ by local sculptor Redmond Herrity.
There has also been a new information board installed.
Raising the issue, Cllr. Jimmy Kavanagh said that there had been an old sign which was removed. He pointed out that it had incorrectly stated the location of the “Famine Graveyard” whereas in reality it was the old Workhouse Graveyard.
He also requested that a new (brown) heritage directional sign for the County Museum be installed at the bottom of the High Road.
The matter is being taken up by Donegal County Council.
