New research shows Omega 3 can give comfort to dry eyes

Eye doctors from a local eye clinic have been involved in developing a new nutritional supplement for dry eye sufferers, ‘Eye Nutrients Dry Omega’. Dry eye disease is a common medical condition that occurs when the eyes do not make enough tears or the tears evaporate too quickly. This causes the eyes to become dry, red, and irritated. Symptoms include dryness, grittiness, soreness, burning and temporarily blurred vision.

A recent report by over 150 global dry eye experts, recommends Omega 3 fish oil supplementation. Essential fatty acids, especially Omega 3, have been shown to improve dry eye symptoms due to their anti-inflammatory capabilities. There are many reasons our eyes become dry, for example, wearing contact lenses, working at a computer screen for long periods, poor diet, air conditioning and heating, inflammatory skin disease (rosacea), inflammatory eyelid disease (blepharitis) or simply growing older.

A local Dungannon lady can vouch for the difference the product has made to her eyes. “I have had sore, tired dry eyes for more than 12 months and I’ve tried everything – all sorts of eye drops and sprays.  They only ever provided temporary relief from my
symptoms. I saw the Eye Nutrients supplement at the Balmoral Show and bought 2 months supply of the Dry Omega liquid. I took one spoonful a day and within 3 days my dry eyes were gone! This was such a relief, because at work I was beginning to feel drained and tired when I sat in front of the computer screen for too long. I was finding I had to take more and more breaks from the computer and it was affecting my concentration at work.

“I take one spoonful of the Dry Omega liquid every day with my dinner. When I missed one week because I had run out, my eyes began to feel dry and sore. I quickly stocked up again from my local optician! If you suffer from dry eyes like me, I would definitely recommend Eye Nutrients Dry Omega. It is reassuring it has been developed by eye doctors especially for dry eyes. I will be using it forever!”

Researchers at the Eye Clinic are currently conducting a patient trial to show the benefits of taking Eye Nutrients Dry Omega.
Dry eye sufferers can now track their symptoms using a brand new app, Cathedral Dry Eye app. It is free to download from the App Store. Users can set daily reminders for their dry eye treatment and track their symptoms every week.
