New Primary Care Centre for Gaoth Dobhair

COMMITTMENT has been given by the HSE today that it will lease a premises in Gaoth Dobhair for a Primary Care Centre.
Sinn Féin Finance Spokesperson Deputy Pearse Doherty has welcomed the announcement saying it is a postive development for the local community.

“I have received confirmation from the HSE that it has agreed to lease an existing premises in Gaoth Dobhair to house a new Primary Care Centre for the area,” said Deputy Doherty.

 “The executive has stated that it intends to locate the centre in the current out-of-hours NoWDOC building and that the plans will require some internal refurbishments to be carried out in order to make the location fit for the delivery of these vital services.”

 He continued: “The design of these proposed changes is currently being discussed with the developer and it’s hoped that once these are agreed upon that the lease with the HSE can then be progressed.”

 
“Primary Care comprises of the many health and social care services that serve our local communities, including GP services, Public Health Nurses and a range of other vital services which are provided by the local Primary Care team.”

 
“Today’s decision is of course very good news for the Gaoth Dobhair area and is welcome news for the local community here,” concluded Deputy Doherty.
