New-look Harps held to a draw

Finn Harps 0-0 Bray Wanderers

A NEW-LOOK Finn Harps team were held to a scoreless draw against Bray Wanderers at Finn Park tonight.

There was a big change to the Harps eleven as Daniel Stokoe, Patrick Ferry, Jamie Watson, Max Hutchinson, Matthew Makinson and Scott Wara all made their debuts, while Stephen Doherty was straight into the team after signing back for the club.

Bray went close twice early on before Sean O’Donnell was denied by a smart save from Bray goalkeeper Stephen McGuinness.

Makinson headed a good chance over the bar for Harps while Tim Hiemer had to be alert to save at the feet of Ben Feeney.

Harps went very close to scoring in the 51st minute but McGuinness tipped Ryan Flood’s powerful shot onto the crossbar.

Bray then hit the woodwork themselves four minutes later with Dane Massey unlucky not to score.

BJ Banda came on after signing back for Harps during the week and he forced a top class save from McGuinness, and then sent a cross-come-shot narrowly wide.

Makinson had a good opportunity in the 91st minute but blazed over the bar.

Neither side could fashion a clear-cut chance after that and Harps’ wait for a second home win of the season goes on. They are ninth in the table after 22 games.
