LARGE vehicles are experiencing difficulties on parts of the Downings to Carrigart road where a new €500,000 footpath is being built, members of Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District Council have been told.
The issue was raised by Cllr. Liam Blaney who said there had been claims that the kerbing had narrowed the road too much.
He added that on the first corner going outside the urban speed limit in Carrigart, heading towards Downings, problems were being reported by drivers of large vehicles who noted their back wheels were going over the white line.
He wondered whether following the ongoing works the road is wide enough where two large vehicles are passing.
In response, he was informed that the matter will be looked at by council officials.
The building of the new footpath began in August and is due to be completed by the end of this year.
