THE 1916 societies have organised a rally for freedom, independence and sovereignty in Lifford on December 28 at 2pm.
The newly formed Eithne Coyle 1916 Society, Lifford, will host the event.
A spokesperson for the Lifford society is calling on everyone in East Donegal and West Tyrone to come out and support the rally which will start at Lifford bridge.
“From there it will make its way up through the town to the 1916 monument at the bottom of Croaghan Heights where guest speakers will address the crowd,” they said.
“Marching bands from Tyrone and Derry will be in attendance.
“It is important that we get as many people to come out and support this rally for the reunification of our country which will end the year of 2022 which saw several unity rallies which were a huge success.
“We look forward to similar demonstrations in the new year ahead,” the 1916 Society spokesperson added.
