New €1 million Linear Park now open

A NEW €1 million Linear Park in Letterkenny is now open.

The park, offering a “fresh, new experience”, is located beside Letterkenny Public Services Centre and the Neil T Blaney Road.

The park had been due to open in May but following a delay, it instead opened earlier this month.

The recreational park is the first phase of the greater , providing greater connectivity with a new footpath and cycle way infrastructure in a landscaped environment.

The Linear Park scheme is the first phase of the greater LK Green Connect scheme. The new scheme aims to promote the walking, cycling and public realm infrastructure in Letterkenny.

A spokesperson for Donegal County Council told the Donegal News the scheme will connect town centre destinations, giving increased options for how people move around and within the town centre.

It will also provide a fresh and exciting new experience navigating the urban environment.

“This scheme provides new footpaths and cycle way infrastructure in a landscaped environment.

“It is jointly funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage under the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund and Donegal County Council.”
