CARNDONAGH’s Joanne McKinney is the new chairperson of Donegal LGFA.
The Inishowen woman was elected unopposed to the chair at Sunday evening’s Donegal LGFA AGM which was held in the Clanree Hotel, Letterkenny.
She replaces outgoing chairman Seamus Herron who has stepped down from the position.
Seamus, however, will remain at the top table having replaced Joanne as vice-chairperson.
There were no other changes of any significance on the executive with Declan McDermott (treasurer), Michelle McKenna (secretary), Danielle Loughrey (PRO), Donal Sharkey (Cultural Officer) and Tara Walsh (Registrar) all returned unopposed.
At a well attended meeting delegates were presented with the usual reports and a number of motions also served up some discussion.
Among those to address the meeting was outgoing Donegal ladies senior team manager Maxi Curran who spoke of his pride at managing Donegal over the last six seasons. During a very detailed presentation, Maxi offered his best wishes to John McNulty who was recently appointed as the new county team manager,

Chairperson, Joanne McKinney; vice-chairperson, Seamus Herron; Secretary, Michelle McKenna; Assistant secretary, Catriona Sweeney; Treasurer, Declan McDermott; Assistant treasurer, Lisa McClafferty; PRO Danielle Loughrey; Cultural Officer, Donal Sharkey; Registrar, Tara Walsh; Children’s Officer, to be appointed by executive.
