New Chair of LYIT’s Governing Body appointed

FINTAN Moloney has been appointed by Ruairí Quinn, Minister for Education and Skills, as the new Chair of LYIT’s Governing Body.

He served as District Inspector of Taxes for Donegal in the mid-1980s and established Fintan Moloney & Co Ltd, Taxation and Financial Consultants, 25 years ago.

He is involved in local business, sports and the arts and was previously Chair of Letterkenny Junior Chamber, Treasurer of Letterkenny Rugby Club, President of Letterkenny Rotary Club, Chair of the Irish Management Institute North Region, and is currently on the Board of Directors of the Earagail Arts Festival.

Paul Hannigan, President LYIT, welcomed him as the new Chairman, “We look forward to drawing on Fintan’s vast expertise both in the public and private sectors.

“He brings significant experience including his contribution to the wider Donegal community to our Governing Body which will help us in determining the next phase of development for Letterkenny IT.”

Mr. Hannigan also paid tribute to the outgoing Chair Henry McGarvey, “I would like to thank Henry for his valuable input over the last 2 years.”
