INSPIRED by an urge to do something to help teens, a Donegal woman has just published a book to assist parents in helping their children to choose a career path.
Career Coach (Gill & Macmillan) is a new step-by-step guide to help your teen find their life’s purposes and make sense of who they are and what they want to do with their life. The woman behind the book is Dearbhla Kelly from Donegal town who works in adult education with Donegal ETB in Letterkenny.
Career Coach features a series of ‘role models’ whose stories are to inspire the reader, including well-known names as celebrity chef Neven Maguire, world famous gardener and broadcaster Diarmuid Gavin and even some inspiring Donegal people. “The role models show that not everybody has to necessarily go to college to have a great career; a lot of people forget about the apprenticeship route these days. The case studies are there to give readers a flavour of different career, while you also get a sense of their attitude, commitment to their craft, and doing what ever it takes,” she said.
Officially published on Friday, August 14, Career Coach will be launched in the Four Masters bookshop in Donegal tomorrow. For more information log onto dearbhlakelly.com and follow Dearbhla on Twitter @DearbhlaKelly. Career Coach is available in all good book shops.
