ST MARY’S Church in Convoy hosted a prayerful and uplifting gathering for the launch of Fr Eamonn Kelly’s latest book, Nine Visits to the Divine Mercy Alcove.
The event featured prayer, hymns, and excerpts from the book, allowing attendees to experience the grace of Divine Mercy.
Throughout the afternoon, they recited the Divine Mercy Chaplet, listened to passages read by Fr Eamonn, participated in Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, and prayed with the relics of St Faustina and Fr Michael Sopoćko. Music, led by Gerard McGee and the Children’s Choir of St Mary’s, added to the atmosphere of prayer and reflection.
Nine Visits to the Divine Mercy Alcove offers a structured yet flexible approach to prayer and reflection at the Divine Mercy Alcove in St Mary’s Church, Convoy.
The book provides nine different visits, each designed to help individuals or groups deepen their understanding of Divine Mercy.
These visits can be physically made at the Divine Mercy Alcove or followed from anywhere in the world using the book as a guide.
The structure encourages both personal and communal prayer, with each visit focusing on a different aspect of Divine Mercy through scripture, reflection, and contemplation.
Fr Eamonn Kelly, in his introduction, shares how the alcove naturally evolved between 2021 and 2022, becoming a tranquil space where visitors can encounter God’s mercy in a profound way.
The alcove includes, a first-class relic of St. Faustina Kowalska, the Divine Mercy image, quotes from St Faustina’s diary, timelines of St Faustina and blessed Fr Michael Sopoćko, visual representations of Our Lady, St Joseph, and the Knock Apparition.
The book encourages readers to take their time, reflect, pray, and record their thoughts. The visits are flexible, allowing for personal adaptation, and aim to help individuals experience the love and mercy of God in a deeper way.
Guest speaker Dermot Dowdall, a member of the Faustinum Association of Apostles of Divine Mercy, gave a compelling talk on the life of Fr Michael Sopoćko, St Faustina’s spiritual director.
Fr Eamonn Kelly’s book is not only a spiritual guide but also a work of charity.
Priced at just €9, all proceeds from its sales will go directly to Mary’s Meals, which is currently feeding 2,429,182 children every school day in their place of education.
