IRELAND’S much loved chef, Neven Maguire, will bring his renowned culinary expertise to the Clanree Hotel on Monday, March 9 for a special fundraising cookery demonstration in aid of Downstrands Family Resource Centre.
Doors open at 6.30pm for what promises to be an inspiring evening celebrating food, local producers and community spirit.
A familiar face in homes across Ireland through his television work, bestselling cookery books and award winning restaurant, Neven is celebrated for his warm personality and passion for simple, delicious dishes made using quality local ingredients.
On the night, he will prepare a selection of much loved recipes live on stage, sharing expert tips, practical techniques and plenty of entertaining stories along the way. His relaxed and engaging style ensures the evening will be enjoyable and accessible for everyone, whether an experienced home cook or someone who simply appreciates great food.
The event will also showcase artisan food producers from across the North West, highlighting the region’s exceptional food culture and encouraging continued support for local businesses. Following the demonstration, guests will have the opportunity to meet Neven and have copies of his cookery books signed. Importantly, Neven and his brother Kenny are generously giving their time free of charge to maximise funds raised for charity.
All proceeds from the evening will go directly to the Barrie Quinn Support Fund at Downstrands Family Resource Centre, which provides vital financial and practical assistance to families facing challenging circumstances across Donegal, ensuring that the funds raised will deliver meaningful support to those who need it most.
Adding to the excitement, the night will feature a major charity auction and raffle with prizes valued at over €3,000. A standout prize is an exclusive one night stay at Ballyeriston House for up to eight guests, set on the edge of Gweebarra Bay, including a candlelit private dining experience within the house featuring a six course tasting menu by Chef Peter Campbell inspired by the land and sea of Donegal, thoughtfully paired with wines selected by Tindal Wines, creating a dining experience designed to unfold slowly, course by course, in the comfort of this unique coastal property.
