NEIL Gallagher has said that he will make himself available to play for Donegal next season.

The towering midfielder’s confirmation comes just a couple of days after Jim McGuinness stepped down as the Donegal manager.

Gallagher (31) is enjoying the form of his career and the Glenswilly man isn’t planning to hang up he boots just yet.

“It has been some journey over these last four years,” Gallagher, speaking to Donegal TV, said of his time working under McGuinness.

“I can only speak for myself at the minute but I’ll be battering away anyway and playing out the club championship.

“If the new manager wants to pick me then grand. There are a lot of us around that 31 or 32 bracket.

“You saw Christy Toye, who missed a year out and came back and had a great year. He’s the same age as myself and there’s plenty of football still there.”

Gallagher was an All-Star in 2012 during Donegal’s All-Ireland winning campaign and is tipped for another All-Star this year following a superb year in the Donegal engine room.
