The National Women’s Council (NWC) will be in Letterkenny this Friday urging people to Vote Yes in the referendums on family and care on March 8.

There will be a photo call with props at 11am in Donegal Women’s Centre, Port Road in Letterkenny.

Rachel Coyle, Head of Campaigns at the National Women’s Council, said:

“We’re thrilled to be out talking to the people of Donegal today ahead of these referendums.

“45 per cent of births in Donegal take place outside marriage nowadays.

“These votes are our opportunity to shape a fairer, more equal Ireland where all families and children are valued equally.

“An Ireland where the important contribution of care by both men and women is recognised.

“It’s our chance to send a strong message to the government that we want to see supports for families and for care,” she said.

Campaigners are encouraged to get in touch with NWC if they wish to join the campaign.
