The FAI has today announced the appointment of Heimir Hallgrímsson as the new Head Coach of the Republic of Ireland Senior Men’s National Team.

The former Iceland and Jamaica manager will lead the team for UEFA Nations League & FIFA World Cup 2026 campaigns.

After 231 days without a manager, he will be officially unveiled at a press conference tomorrow at the Aviva Stadium.

Hallgrímsson will assume charge of his first competitive fixture this September as Ireland face England in the UEFA Nations League.
