Kincasslagh Rowing Club members had huge success at the Swift Racing Irish Masters Coastal Championships last weekend.
The second running of the championships saw over 200 rowers from over 20 clubs take to Glenarm Marina at the home of the Olderfleet Rowing Club, with the Kincasslagh club coming away with a number of medals.
In the Mens Singles event (+40), Kincasslagh Rowing Club’s Colm Gaffney finished in first place with clubmate Paul McGonagle 5th.
The pair then took silver in the Mens Doubles while they were joined by Séamus Linden and James McGonagle and Dineka Maguire (cox) for the Mens Quad (50+) where they took gold.
Gaffney added a fourth medal and a third gold when he and Lena Breslin won the Mixed Doubles (50+), with Emma Gaughan and James McGonagle third.
Womens Quad (+50) team of Shirley Lee, Lena Breslin, Annemarie Mulholland, Bridget Sweeney and James McGonagle (cox) had to settle for fourth in what was a successful weekend for the athletes.
