A Letterkenny man with aspirations of opening his own business says the support of National Learning Network is helping him edge closer to his dream.
Michael King spoke to the Donegal News ahead of an open day in Letterkenny on Wednesday.
“I am 18 and I am on the Employer Based Training programme at National Learning Network (NLN) Letterkenny.
“It’s a great course for me because I want to open my own business. School was difficult for me but here I am learning in a different way and at a pace that I can manage and everyone is very supportive.
“I am already well on my way to starting up my own business and I know that I will succeed because of NLN Letterkenny. I have learned to believe in myself.”
National Learning Network delivers personalised education, training and development opportunities for people with disabilities or people requiring additional supports.
The training provider will hold an open day this Wednesday at 11am in its Letterkenny headquarters, Rossview Business Park, Port Rd.
Director of Learning, Lucianne Bird added, “After more than two years of living with a pandemic we have many people with new mental health challenges and complications of Long-Covid that could avail of these life-changing courses and get back on track.
“We work with people not just with a disability, but those who have had a health setback, have a mental health condition, autism, or people recovering from an accident or illness.”
