AN estimated 470,000 people tuned in to RTÉ’s Morning Ireland this morning to hear concerns and hopes from across Donegal in the context of the forthcoming local elections on June 7.
Producers chose to begin their national coverage of the local elections in Donegal which would appear to somewhat dispel the ‘Forgotten County’ label.
The Editor of Derry People Donegal News, Diarmaid Doherty, played a key role in RTÉ’s coverage which was hosted by Morning Ireland’s Cian McCormack from the campus of Letterkenny University, ATU.
“Housing, assisting those seeking international protection, and the defective concrete blocks crisis, are probably all intertwined because one has a knock-on effect on the other,” Mr Doherty told the debate.
County Coroner and IMO President Dr Denis McCauley took part. So too did Toni Forrester, CEO of Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce.
