COUNTRY music sensation Nathan Carter will be in Letterkenny Shopping Centre tomorrow (Saturday) to celebrate the launch of a new lightning-fast broadband service from SKY.

Nathan will be there from 11am to meet and greet fans and to host the Sky Broadband Lightning-Fast Sweep where participants will get the chance to win up to €1,000.

Sky Broadband has released research uncovering Donegal’s online habits to celebrate the launch of its fastest ever Fibre broadband, Sky Fibre Ultra, with lightning speeds up to one Gigabit.

According to new nationwide research conducted by Sky Broadband, browsing social media is Donegal’s favourite thing to do online, followed by checking the news and watching box sets. 

The research has revealed that the national average of time spent online is two hours per day and people in Donegal spending that time on data burning apps such as Facebook (51%), Snapchat (19%) and YouTube (8%). This research has been released to celebrate the launch of Sky Fibre Ultra, which brings lightning broadband speeds of up to 1Gb into customers’ homes across Donegal and is now available from just €40 per month.

This ease of use seems to be reflected in the stats as watching movies online was also revealed as a habit Donegal people love to do online. 37% of people in Donegal admit to watching movies online, which is higher than the national average of 35%, and are self-confessed movie buffs with the majority spending over seven hours a week watching movies online. This figure is compared to the overall national average of just 2.6 hours per week.
