Gowna 1-10 Naomh Conaill 2-8
A last gasp goal from Kevin McGettigan sealed a dramatic victory for Naomh Conaill in the Ulster Senior Quarter-final in Breffni Park.
The Glenties men were behind from early but points through Odhran Doherty (2), AJ Gallagher and Eunan Doherty kept them to drawing level four times in-a-row before Brendan McDyer gave them the lead.
Leo McLoone lobbed Gowna ‘keeper Ronan Bannon for a goal on half-time for a 2-5 to 0-4 lead.
But Gowna quickly levelled after the restart through a Cian Madden free and a Conor Brady goal.
Jeaic MacCeallbhuí and Leo McLoone added points but Gowna hit back each time and took the lead into the final ten minutes.
A John O’Malley free levelled in the 57th minute before two Gowna points looked to settle the game but Anthony Thompson’s high ball in came out to Kevin McGettigan who found the back of the net in the 64th minute.
