NAOMH Conaill were informed this afternoon that their appeal to the Ulster Council has been successful.
The Glenties based club had lodged an objection after their senior football semi-final loss to Glenswilly at the end of October.
Their appeal centred around a yellow card to Glenswilly player, Ciaran Bonner, and a subsequent black card which should have seen him sent off without a replacement.
The Glenties club appealed the County Board decision to the Ulster Council after the GAA’s hierarchy in Croke Park kicked the matter back to the provincial body.
“We got word through, via an email, this afternoon that our appeal had been successful. Obviously we’re delighted in that it vindicates the decision we took from the outset. We’ll await official correspondence before commenting any further on the matter,” David Kelch, Naomh Conaill County Board delegate said.
