Naomh Conaill 0-9 St Eunan’s 1-5
Naomh Conaill secured the Division 1 League title with a victory over rivals St Eunan’s in MacCumhaill Park today.
Both teams were heavily depleted for the match and it turned out to be a tame enough encounter.
Naomh Conaill had the better of the first half and led by 0-4 to 0-2 at half-time.
Things did improve in the second half and both teams kicked good points in the third quarter.
Ethan O’Donnell scored two points as Naomh Conaill moved 0-8 to 0-5 ahead by the 46th minute.
Charlie McGuinness tagged on a point for the Glenties men before St Eunan’s were awarded a penalty at the death.
Eoin McGeehin converted the spot-kick but the referee Stephen Doherty blew the full-time whistle from the resulting kick-out, much to the frustration of the Letterkenny players.
