Naomh Conaill produced a stunning back to claim their eighth Senior Football Championship title against Gaoth Dobhair at O’Donnell Park on Sunday.
Martin Regan’s outfit were seven points adrift at half-time however, the battled back to force extra-time where they ran out two-point winners.
Gaoth Dobhair registered the contest’s first score after two minutes through an Ethan Harkin free before Eamonn Collum doubled their advantage with a close range effort.
Naomh Conaill soon opened their account for the afternoon, with Finnbarr Roarty fisting an effort over the bar.
Fionnán Coyle quickly restored his side’s two-point advantage but it Shea Malone cancelled it out as he slotted the ball between the posts.
The showpiece’s next four scores were shared, with Brendan McDyer bagging a brace of points for the Glenties men while Míchéal Roarty and Stephen McFadden found white flags for Rónán MacNiallais’ outfit.
On the quarter hour mark, Gaoth Dobhair were awarded a penalty when Fionnán Coyle was deemed to be fouled by Anthony Thompson as he was about to pull the trigger.
Dáire Ó Baoill stepped up to the spot and slotted the ball low into the corner of the net.
Naomh Conaill responded, with Finnbarr Roarty firing over a fine effort but the Maghergallon men hit back with a trio of scores from Odhrán Mac Niallais, Stephen McFadden and Eamonn Collum.
McDyer soon slotted over his third point of the afternoon however, Gaoth Dobhair concluded Act One strongly and further white flags from Ethan Harkin and Mícheál Roarty left them seven to the good at the break.
Martin Regan’s side began the second stanza with purpose and cut the deficit to six courtesy of a John O’Malley free before Kevin McGettigan found the back of the net.
This was soon followed by a fine score from Kieran Gallagher to leave just two points between the teams with 42 minutes on the clock.
It took the 2018 county champions 16 minutes to register their first score of the second half when Ethan Harkin popped over a close range free to push their lead to three.
Two minutes later, their advantage was stretched further, with Niall Friel fisting the ball over the bar shortly after being introduced.
The Glenties men continued to rally and scores through Leo McLoone and Odhran Doherty (two-pointer) reduced the arrears to the minimum as the clock entered red.
However, Friel was involved again soon afterwards as he popped up to fist over his second point of Act Two.
In the third minute of injury time, the sides were level as Shea Malone landed a fantastic two-pointer with the boot and extra-time was required.

Five minutes later, they kicked a major as Kieran Gallagher found Max Campbell who rifled the ball home.
Further scores from Campbell and Charles McGuinness left them six ahead at the break.
Scores in the opening stages of the second period of extra-time from Jordi Gribben and Ethan Harkin (free) cut the deficit to four.
Finnbarr Roarty got forward to add his third point of the contest but Ethan Harkin replied with a superb effort from outside the arc to leave three points between the sides.
O’Malley soon slotted over another score for the Glenties men however, Harkin hit back with another orange flag for the Magheragallon men.
Harkin had an opportunity late on to draw a replay but his free from range dropped short and James Connors called an end to proceedings to seal the Dr Maguire Cup for Martin Regan’s side.
