AN event bringing together some of Donegal’s best known performers and musicians will be held in Ramelton on Wednesday to raise funds and express solidarity for the people of Gaza.
A Candle for Gaza will take place in Ramelton Town Hall on Wednesday, August 13 at 7.30pm. It will be a social night of music, words, theatre and art to raise funds for medical aid to support those thousands of people suffering as a result of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Musicians performing on the night include Ruairi Friel, Mark Black, Brendan Friel, Hannah Gallagher, Jimmy Simmons, Frank Saucian, John Muldowney, Maria McCormick, Maggie Reed, Declan McClafferty, Nasty and the Fanatics, Billy Robinson and Sinead Gallagher.
Piece of theatre and prose will be performed and read by Fadl Mustafa, Mark McCollum, Idan Meir, Karen Blaney and Maximum Homosapien.
Art will be displayed by Christie Keaney, Michelle McCarroll, Lbhe Ai, Kloe Humm, Rebecca Strain, Siobhan Gillespie and Bernadette Hopkins.
Everyone is welcome to attend the event and are asked to bring a tea light in a holder to join together to light a candle for Gaza outside the hall prior to the performances.
There will be a box at the door for donations which will go to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).
