Donegal 0-21 Armagh 1-10
MICHAEL Murphy made his long-awaited return to the Donegal shirt as he helped his county to victory over Armagh at MacCumhaill Park today.
The reigning All-Ireland champions Armagh started well with Darragh McMullen scoring an early goal.
However, Donegal soon settled with the breeze supporting them and Patrick McBrearty, Jamie Brennan, Ryan McHugh and Conor O’Donnell were all in fine form in front of the posts.
HT: Donegal 0-12 Armagh 1-3
Armagh made a strong start to the second half and reduced their deficit to two points before Michael Murphy came on for the first time since his retirement u-turn.
Aidan Forker got to grips with Murphy straight away and then was shown a straight red card for a head-butt on the Glenswilly man.
Murphy quickly tagged on two points from play and Donegal were able to push on ahead and win comfortably.
Donegal have now won three matches on the trot and are away to Galway next week.
