GARDAÍ in Letterkenny have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man on Thursday.
Gardaí were called to an incident at Sylvan Park in Letterkenny at about 4.49pm last Wednesday.
A 36-year-old man had received serious injuries in an assault and he was rushed by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital.
The man died on Thursday and a post-mortem was carried out by the State Pathologist Professor Marie Cassidy. The investigation was last night upgraded to murder.
Speaking at Letterkenny Garda Station, Detective Inspector Pat O’ Donnell appealed for witnesses.
