St Eunan’s wing-back Darragh Mulgrew says his team felt like they let the whole club down last year when they failed to get out of their group.
The Letterkenny men found themselves in the group of death in 2018 and finished behind Gaoth Dobhair and Naomh Conaill.
They have another difficult quartet this year, and face a defining match with St Michael’s at the Bridge on Sunday at 2pm.
A draw would be enough to send ‘Eunan’s through, and according to Mulgrew they won’t lack for motivation after failing to make it to the quarter-finals in 2018.
“We were gutted not to qualify last year. We felt we let the whole club down.
“Over the last ten or 15 years the club have been very successful at underage level and at senior and reserve, and we have been winning championships.
“We have dropped off a bit in recent years, and we know we didn’t play well enough last season.
“We’re hoping to push on this year but we know it won’t be easy against St Michael’s.”
