MS Support Group raises €1,433 for Swilly-Mulroy Mobility Bus

THE MS Support Group has presented a cheque for €1,433 to Kirsty Shields of the Milford & District Resource Centre, following the success of its annual Christmas Hamper Draw.

The funds raised will go directly towards supporting the Swilly-Mulroy Mobility Bus, a vital community service providing accessible transport for wheelchair users and individuals with mobility challenges across the area.

The service enables people to attend medical appointments, community groups and events, and support groups, helping to reduce isolation and improve quality of life.

The Swilly-Mulroy Mobility Bus operates as a pick-up and drop-off service within the Milford Electoral Area, including Milford, Ramelton, Rathmullan, Kerrykeel, Fanad, Downings, Carrigart, Portsalon, Kilmacrennan and Termon, with travel also available as far as Letterkenny.

Clients using the service must have their own carer if assistance is required on or off the bus, and all wheelchairs must be crash-tested to meet transport safety requirements.

The MS Support Group extended sincere thanks to everyone who purchased tickets and supported the Christmas Hamper Draw, acknowledging that community generosity plays a crucial role in maintaining essential local services. Congratulations were also offered to the draw winner, Caroline Gallagher from Fanad.
