Moya Brennan’s new music to highlight the feeling of loss at Christmas

DONEGAL folk singer Moya Brennan has released a new single ‘I Still Believe’ and a new album ‘Nollaig Gaelach’ to highlight the feeling of loss around Christmas.

Moya’s brother Leon passed away in December 2021, and her uncle Noel (a founding member of Clannad) passed away in 2022, as well as the losses of her father Leo and Noel’s twin brother, Padraig, in previous years.

‘Nollaig Gaelach’ is a reworking of some tracks from that album, re-recording them to capture the essence of their evolution during her live Christmas performances, while also including a few new tracks.

The album is produced by Moya herself, alongside her daughter and son, Aisling and Paul Jarvis.

The warmth and togetherness of the holidays stay in focus on this album, as we strive to find the peace and joy of the Christmas season.
