MOVILLE’S steady start to the Donegal LGFA Senior Championship continued on Sunday morning when they made the trip to Dungloe and came away with an impressive win.
The Inishowen side top Group A following a 1-13 to 1-09 victory at Rosses Park.
It’s been nine years since Moville last won this title in Donegal, but after losing last year’s final to Termon, perhaps this could be the year when they taste some long awaited success.
Termon have gone second in Group A. They came from behind to beat St. Eunan’s in a low scoring affair at O’Donnell Park on Sunday morning, winning by 1-04 to 1-02.
In Group B, there was one match played on Sunday and it finished level in Mountcharles where it was St. Naul’s 2-08, Naomh Conaill 2-08.
Glenfin lead the way in this group with two points to spare over St Naul’s.
In the Intermediate Championship, there were no games on Sunday but there were some important ties in the Junior A Championship.
In Group A, Sean MacCumhaill’s came from behind to defeat Urris by a point in a close contest in Convoy. Rebecca Campbell scored the winning point to give her team a 1-09 to 2-05 victory.
The win means MacCumhaills, winners of the Junior B title last weekend, continue to lead the way in this group.
The leaders in Group B are Naomh Columba. They made it two wins from two with a 3-19 to 2-09 win at home to Glenswilly.
Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin enjoyed a big win in Convoy, defeating St. Mary’s of Convoy by 4-24 to 1-01.
In the Junior B Championship, Letterkenny Gaels lead the way in the group thanks to a third win from three games, defeating Burt by 3-16 to 5-03 on Sunday morning.
Red Hughs have a game in hand and moved second in the table following a narrow 1-08 to 0-07 win at home to Aodh Ruadh. Red Hughs had beaten St. Michael’s in their opening game.
