Motorcyclist hospitalised following collision

A MOTORCYCLIST was hospitalised following a road traffic collision with a lorry on Monday.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses in relation to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the R242 at Norrira, Malin, on Monday, April 28, shortly before 2.35pm. The collision involved a lorry and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was removed from the scene to be taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to receive treatment for serious but non-life threatening injuries. The lorry driver was not injured.

A garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to anybody who may have witnessed the collision to make contact with Gardaí in Buncrana on (074) 9320540. If anyone travelled along Malin Town to Lagg Road with a dash-cam around that time, we ask them to make the footage available to Gardaí. The road remains closed this morning for examination and it is expected to remain closed for a number of hours.
