MORE than 4,000 people marched through Letterkenny this afternoon to show their opposition to Irish Water and its efforts to charge for domestic water.
The protesters marched to Market Square where hundreds of people queued enthusiastically to bin their Irish Water bills in a blue bin provided by the organisers – Can’t Pay Won’t Pay.
Deputy Thomas Pringle, Philip McFadden, Maggie McClure and Francis McCafferty of Can’t Pay Won’t Pay, addressed the crowds at the square encouraging them not to pay their water bills.
Deputy Ruth Coppinger, who was to address the meeting, was in Kilkenny as she had a double booking.
