More than €4,000 raised for charity in memorial quiz

The first ever Kieran McGrath Memorial Quiz proved a wonderful success with over €4,000 raised for charity.

The event, which was held in the Station House Hotel in Letterkenny earlier this month, celebrated the memory of the Letterkenny man who passed away in March.

Kieran was very well known within sporting circles, but he will also be remembered for his love of quizzes and from a very young age, was a regular on the quiz circuit across the north west.

His good friend and former quiz team-mate Gerry McKeever organised the memorial quiz.

In all 41 teams took part, and along with the contribution of a host of generous sponsors, €4,080 was raised.

The money will be divided evenly between Pieta House and Sheephaven Rescue and Recovery.

Gerry would like to thank the staff and management at the Station House Hotel, everyone at Letterkenny Rovers who assisted on the night, and William and Aaron Coyle.

It’s planned to run another quiz next year.
