MORE well-known figures of the Donegal sports world are showing their support for this year’s upcoming second annual World Spina Bifidy Day (October 25).

Earlier this week we met Conor McEntee (6) from Middletown, Derrybeg, who has a mild form of spina bifida.

This week he presented a wristband and pin to Gaoth Dobhair players Christopher Sweeney and Dan McBride (pictured above) who were only too delighted to show their support for World Spina Bifida Day, October 25.

Conor, also keen soccer player, received the support from FAI Regional Development Officer Shane Barr, during the week, as well.

Conor and his family will be selling pins and wristbands at Molloy’s and Gallagher’s in Derrybeg from 10am until 4pm that day.

Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland was established in 1968 by a small group of parents whose children had Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus. These parents continue to dedicate their time to the association and are now elected volunteers on our Board of Directors as well as being elected to Branch Committees nationally.

Today, SBHI has over 3 000 members and has branches in all four provinces, as well as a professionally run National Resource Centre based in Clondalkin, Dublin 22.
