THE body of missing yacht skipper Michael Green from Ray, Rathmullan, was found at Sheephaven Bay yesterday (Thursday) evening.
Members of the Mulroy Coastguard Unit were into day five of their search of the coastline after Mr Green’s sailing boat, ‘Wood Magic’ was discovered to have no one aboard on Saturday evening last. A member of the public alerted the coastguard to the fact the dinghy attached to the yacht was upturned.
It then emerged Mr Green’s boat had been anchored in the bay for around ten days.
His body was found between Tramore Beach and Downings Beach at around 6 pm yesterday evening (Thursday).
Requiem Mass will celebrated for Mr Green in St Joseph’s Church in Rathmullan tomorrow (Saturday) morning with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
