Lauren McDonagh (17) from Buncrana has been crowned Miss Donegal 2017 in the Cavern, Letterkenny. The Crana College Leaving Cert student was surrounded by ecstatic family and friends at the event.
There were eleven contestants from throughout the county. Second runner up was Jennie Carr, from Bunbeg Harbour, Gweedore and the first runner up was Eibhlín O’Donnell from Dore Bunbeg. They will go forward to a national card selection night for a shot at a place in the final alongside Lauren.
The event was hosted by Marty Friel and judged by Sharon Bradley, Niamh Frain, Rosie Boyle, Darren Browne and Gena Quinnel. Main Sponsor of this year’s event was the Cavern Bar and Garden Letterkenny. Pure Boutique Letterkenny sponsored the fashion show and will sponsor Lauren for this year’s Miss Ireland Final. Niamh Frian make up sponsored the girls make up on the night. GQ Cosmetics sponsored a €300 voucher for the winner.
