Donegal minor manager Barry Ward says his team will be playing ‘real championship football’ from this weekend on.
Ward’s young side started the league very impressively by beating Fermanagh and Tyrone but a defeat to Down last week has threatened to derail their campaign.
If Down beat Fermanagh as expected on Saturday, a defeat for Donegal against Monaghan in Ballyshannon will see Ward’s team miss out on the Ulster quarter-finals, and they would end up in the National Tier 3 competition.
A win over the Farney side would see Donegal leapfrog leaders Tyrone on head-to-head and send them straight through to the semi-finals of Ulster, while a draw would seal a home quarter-final.
