The Donegal all Ireland B Semi-finalists who lost out to Meath in Clones on Saturday.
Meath 4-18 Donegal 2-08
A WHIRLWIND start from Meath saw the Royals blitz Donegal in Clones yesterday to reach the Minor B final.
Gavin McGowan netted after just two minutes and when Sean Doyle blasted past Dylan Lafferty soon after Meath had opened up a ten-point lead.
Meath’s greater fitness levels were a telling factor and it took some time for Donegal to find their feet. When they did, they put in an admirable showing with Oisin Rooney and Eddie Lynch firing over points before Jack O’Loughlin fired to the net.
A second O’Loughlin goal reeled the deficit in even further, but Meath led 2-11 to 2-4 at the changeover.
McGowan’s second goal early in the second half put the game beyond doubt and the excellent Jack Regan added a fourth.
Eddie Lynch and Colm Kelly kept up the fight for Donegal, but with Ryan Raliegh, Jack Fegan and Stefan Kelly in fine form, Meath romped home.
