THE community in Milford has been plunged into shock following the sudden death of a two-year-old boy in the town at the weekend.
Little baby Ricky, son of Gerald McGinley and Ceara Devine, took ill on Saturday morning.
He was brought immediately to the local Rathford Medical Centre, before being rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital (LUH).
However, he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A spokesman for Milford Garda Station confirmed that the death was ‘not a garda matter.’
It is believed a post-mortem was carried out yesterday at LUH and his remains will be removed from there later today.
Funeral arrangements have yet to be confirmed. Ricky is survived by his parents Gerald and Ceara and sister Chloe.
